Writing helps us increase our self-awareness and also offers deep insights that can lead to both healing and transformation.
Life is complicated and getting more and more challenging. So how do we navigate those challenges, when we are confronted with emotion, trauma, and even micro-traumas which can have such an impact on us.
Writing encourages us to reflect on our innermost feelings, and a very soulful and creative way to express ourselves and to find your voice.
So you are probably asking the question How can writing help to heal and transform me?
This is a very important question. When we are facing challenging times or grappling with tough decisions, we might seek professional advice, while others might seek the advice of a trusted friend or relative.
Journal writing is yet another way to achieve clarity and answers. It is a mindful practice, a way to give voice to your feelings and thoughts. It's also a way to reclaim your voice after being silenced.
FULL MOON RITUAL - A TIME TO RELEASE AND LET GO
The full moon is the perfect time to release what no longer serves you!
During this time you can add power to your intentions to release by doing a quick simple ritual.
Completing a ritual creates the feeling that something special is happening, it give intention to your wishes and gets the power of the universe behind you creating your deepest desires.
What you will need:
1. 2 bowls, one to burn paper in safely, one for water
2. 1 candle
3. Incense (optional)
4. A paper or journal and pen
Step 1 - Clear Your Energy.
Imagine standing under a waterfall and allow all negative energies to be washed away.
Step 2 - Create your Sacred Space.
Find a quiet place to sit, sitting in the garden sitting under the moonlight can add even more power and energy to your ritual. You can place crystals around you, the full moon is also the best time to charge and energise your crystals with a moon bath. Cleanse the energy of the room with some incense.
Step 3 - Set Your Space
Light your candle and fill one of the bowls with water, and another bowl suitable to burn a piece of paper in, then place both bowls in front of you.
Step 4 - Centre and ground yourself
Take a few deep breaths, centre yourself, or you can do a short meditation.
Step 5 - Release
Write in your journal or on the piece of paper all that you wish to release from your life, what emotions or limiting beliefs do you want to be free from, what no longer serves you or what you want to let go of?
When you have finished writing, sign and date the page. Breathe deep into your heart and declare “I now let this go and it is so.”
Step 6 - Let go
Place a corner of the piece of paper over the candle allowing the flame to light your page. Place the page into the empty bowl as it burns, watching the flames consume what you are releasing, the smoke taking your intention to the Universe.
If your piece of paper struggles to light or burn, consider if you are really ready to let this go! Only when you are willing to let go will the page burn, the faster and more fierce the flames, the more willing you are to let it go.
Step 7 - Cleanse
Then place your hands in the bowl of water. Signifying cleansing of the old and opening to the new. Remove your hands from the water and take a deep breath.
Step 8 - Reflect & Contemplate
Sit in silence for a while and see what comes up for you, what is your heart and your soul communicating to you? You can journal your thoughts.
